• Installation difficulty: Easy if you’ve changed blades before. Use a 15/16-inch socket for the blade bolt. Torque to 35-40 ft-lbs; overtightening can strip the adapter.
• Mulching performance: These are flat, high-lift mulching blades designed to recut clippings. They will not bag or side-discharge as well as dedicated blade sets—use only for mulching.
• Gotcha: The spark plug included is a standard NGK BPR6ES (or Honda equivalent). If your mower uses a resistor plug (BPR6ES), this is correct. But HRX217 models with electronic ignition may require a non-resistor plug—check your owner’s manual.
• Air filter note: The 17211-Z8B-901 filter is a foam pre-filter plus paper element. Replace both at the same time; do not oil the foam unless specified by your model.
