What It Is

This is a dedicated bench grinder for sharpening lawn mower blades, not a handheld tool. It’s designed for homeowners, landscapers, and small shops who need to sharpen multiple blades quickly and consistently at 30° or 40° angles. It works with high-lift, low-lift, gator, and flat blades.

Fitment & Compatibility

Before buying, check these:

  • Blade length and width: The grinder’s 7" ceramic wheel and adjustable guide accommodate most residential and commercial mower blades up to ~22" long. Very long (over 24") or extremely wide blades may not fit easily.
  • Mounting: Requires a sturdy workbench or stand (not included). The unit weighs ~30 lbs, so a fixed surface is best.
  • Power: Runs on standard 110V household outlet. No special wiring needed.
  • Blade type: Works with steel blades (high-lift, low-lift, gator, flat). Not for mulching blades with deep curves or serrated edges—those need a different approach.
  • OEM vs aftermarket: Compatible with all blade brands (OEM or aftermarket) as long as the blade is flat enough to sit in the guide.

Key Things to Know

  • Setup takes 15–20 minutes: You’ll need to adjust the angle stop, guide plate, and wheel guard. Watch the included manual closely.
  • Built-in balancer and grit collector are useful: The balancer lets you check blade balance after sharpening. The collector reduces airborne dust (but still wear a mask).
  • Ceramic wheel is a plus: It runs cooler than aluminum oxide, reducing the risk of overheating and ruining blade temper. It also lasts longer.
  • Only 1 review at launch: The 5.0 rating is from a single user. No long-term reliability data yet.

Should You Buy It

Buy this if you sharpen blades more than once a season and want consistent, repeatable results without sending blades out. It’s a solid upgrade over a hand file or angle grinder for anyone maintaining multiple mowers. Skip it if you only sharpen one blade once a year—a simple file is cheaper and faster.
