This is a two-in-one tool for sharpening and balancing lawn mower blades. It works with most walk-behind mowers, zero-turn mowers, and riding mowers (up to 22-inch blades), and includes a balancer cone to prevent vibration after sharpening.
Fitment & Compatibility
- Blade type: Fits standard straight, mulching, and gator blades with a center hole up to 1 inch (25mm). Not for blades with irregular mounting holes or offset shapes.
- Sharpening angle: Adjustable from 15° to 45° – works for most residential blades (usually 30°–35°) but check your blade’s factory bevel with a protractor before setting.
- Deck size: No direct deck limit, but the sharpener clamps onto the blade itself. Blades longer than 22 inches may be awkward to balance on the included cone.
- Brands: Compatible with Craftsman, Toro, John Deere, Husqvarna, MTD, Cub Cadet, and most universal blades. Not tested on OEM blades with proprietary hole patterns (e.g., some Honda HRX or Snapper Ninja).
- What to measure: Measure your blade’s center hole diameter and overall length. If the hole is larger than 1 inch, you’ll need a separate balancer adapter.
Key Things to Know
- Adjustable angle is a plus – lets you match the factory bevel exactly, but you must set it before each use (no memory lock). Mark your preferred angle with tape for repeatability.
- Balancer cone is plastic – works fine for home use but can warp if stored in direct sunlight or near heat. Keep it indoors.
- No motor or guide – you provide the file or stone (not included). The tool holds the blade steady; you do the sharpening by hand. Expect 5–10 minutes per blade.
- Only 1 review at launch – the 5.0 rating is from a single buyer. No long-term durability data yet.
Should You Buy It
Buy this if you own multiple mowers with standard blades and want one tool to sharpen and balance them all, and you don’t mind hand-filing. Skip it if you need a powered sharpener, have non-standard blade holes, or prefer a dedicated bench grinder for speed.
